Crimson Salamander Sketchbook
I had this idea of a very big plastic yellow duck floating in a deep pool in a river after a storm. The setting, a remote forest. The mystery, how did it get there? From this question and my rough sketch, I wrote a short story and produced a photo realistic version of the 'big plastic yellow duck'. Fresh new ideas bubbled up. So I started a series. I've around twenty completed so far - and counting.
One of the many benefits of keeping a sketcbook!
Never as bad as it looks.
Sketched with extruded PLA and watercolor.
Sketched with extruded PLA and watercolor. Very hard to control the PLA. I like it for that very reason.
When I was a young boy my father took my younger brother and me to the circus. It was a lot of fun until the clowns came on. "They're drunk!" My father said, in disgust. I was too young to get what exactly he meant by 'drunk', but it was clear there was something not right. According to him, the clowns weren't nearly as funny as they seemed to me.
Many years later I took my own children to the circus. Eventually the clowns came on. Yup! They were drunk!
This rough sketch captures what I think of clowns.
